And the story begins…
If you are reading this, chances are that a few weeks ago you filled in a survey I circulated among my extended network of contacts to learn about people's meal prepping and dietary habits. All the information I gathered through the survey helped me design Comit. Comit is a weekly publication I created to help people who struggle to find the time (and ideas) to prepare tasty, varied, and nutritious meals every week.
Why Comit, why now
The weekend is approaching, and you want to recharge and enjoy some rest before Monday rolls around again. Maybe you’re picturing yourself reading a book, spending time with your family, or engaging in some fun activities. But then it strikes you—you need to go grocery shopping. You need to think about what you’re going to eat next week so you can start preparing some of the meals you won’t have time to make during the week. Plus, you’ve got a bunch of leftover ingredients in the fridge that you’d love to combine into a recipe, but you have no idea how.
Sounds familiar? We’ve all been there, and if you’re anything like me, you know that ignoring these thoughts usually results in one or a combination of the following outcomes:
Overreliance on takeout or ready-to-eat meals
Extreme culinary boredom
Food waste (*)
Well, I’m here to help 😊.
With Comit, I aim to help you achieve a tasty, home-cooked, and varied diet that doesn’t rely on hyper-processed food or takeout. It’s designed to be accessible and optimized for people with little time, while also appealing to those who enjoy cooking when they have more time.
* Did you know? The EU estimates that families could save up to 60 euros per month if they were able to reduce the amount of food they waste. 🤯
What you can expect as a paid/free subscriber
Paid subscribers: every Friday morning, Comit will bring four quick and nutritious recipes straight to your inbox, along with a shopping list that you can download in PDF format and take with you to the grocery store. These are the same recipes I cook for my partner and myself, designed for a busy, active lifestyle without sacrificing taste (we're both Italian, so you're safe there 😜). Each recipe serves four people, so by following all the instructions, you'll end up with 16 homemade, delicious meals. For a couple, this will cover about 60% of your weekly meals. At the bottom of each issue, you'll find two shopping lists: one organized by recipe and one by aisle or category. Download the one you prefer, and you're all set for your grocery shopping. All of this is available at the price of a couple of coffees per month (or just one, if you're a Starbucks fan ☕)
Free subscribers: not interested in the full publication yet? No problem. As a free subscriber, you'll still have access to one recipe per week, plus some additional content I’ll be creating and sharing alongside the weekly posts. It’s a great way to get a taste (pun intended) of what Comit has to offer and see if you’d like to commit to the full experience.
What else?
In addition to the weekly post, I will occasionally share "tips & tricks in the kitchen" type of posts along with other recipes that might appeal to the Comit audience, even if they don't fit into a weekly meal plan. This additional content will be a mix of free and paid offerings.
So, what's next?
The first four weeks of Comit will be free for everyone, so if you haven't yet make sure you subscribe by typing your email below, so you can join me on this journey.
Also, if you think your friends and family may enjoy this publication, feel free to share it with them using the button below. It doesn't cost you anything, and it's a great way to support this project. See you on Friday with the first four recipes!
